Hydrosol distillation is an ancient art and practice that can be traced back over 4,000 years to Cypress and the island of Aphrodite, where remnants of clay stills containing lavender, rosemary, bergamot and other plants were found.  Hydrosols are gentle and offer a wide range of benefits to the skin and spirit. They are composed of water-soluble compounds from the plant, cellular water from within the plant, and trace amounts of essential oils.
